About Me
Meet Dr Godinho
Dr Godinho qualified as a medical doctor from the University of Pretoria in 2009. She obtained her degree with distinction and went on to do her internship at Helen Joseph and Rahima Moosa Hospital in Johannesburg. She loved her time spent at Helen Joseph and did her community service year at the same hospital rotating through critical care and internal medicine.
She then went on to specialise in internal medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand where she spent all her time rotating through Johannesburg hospitals including Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital and, the largest hospital in the Southern hemisphere, Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. She won the Faculty MMed Prize for her dissertation: Clostridium difficile infection at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesbur Academic Hospital: A retrospective review of Clostridium difficile infection in a South African tertiary hospital. She became a Fellow of the College of Physicians in 2017. She then opened her solo practice at Mediclinic Midstream Hospital in Pretoria in 2018.

She is passionate about individualised, high quality health care and strives to provide this to her patients. Dr Godinho enjoys the challenge of diagnosing and treating patients who may feel stagnant in their health journey. She thrives in the high pressure, critical care environment, and out of the critical care environment, she likes to focus on lowering cardiovascular risk in patients, preventing what may be catastrophic insults to the body. She has a soft spot for elderly patients and believes in focusing on quality of life in old age.
She has a special interest in geriatric medicine, osteoporosis, women’s health and pulmonary conditions.

Dr Godinho can be found on Tuesdays between 7 and 8am on weekly Antimicrobial Stewardship Rounds. On Wednesday she hosts a Podcast for Medical Practitioners along with Dr Emmanuel Taban discussing important medical topics in haematology and chemical pathology. On Thursdays, the Podcast is focused on a wide range of medical topics which apply to medical practitioners of all levels of training.
